Approyo CEO, Christopher Carter went live last Friday, December 13th on Liquid Lunch with John Tabacco and Frank Morano. He sat on set at NewsMax TV, discussing the latest popular trend in technology among teenagers, Tik Tok. It was a great informational segment, where he was able to educate people about the latest news in technology, talking not only about the social media app, but network security as well.
Tik Tok is a facial recognition video app that blew up in 2019. This app is the trending social media platform, used to make funny or trendy videos, sharing them with the world around us. Tik Tok has been around since 2016, throughout 2019 its popularity skyrocketed. It has become so popular because in the current digital age of memes, teenagers love any platform where they can post their personal life in a casual way, whether it be dancing, art, or just a funny video. As of April 2019 it has grown to have over 500 million active users throughout the world, ranging from the ages of 12-30 years old. Narrowing it down even further, 41% of users are between the age of 16 and 24 years old.
In this segment, Christopher Carter explains what Tik Tok is all about, how it works, and what parent's probably don't know about the latest app their child is using. As a parent himself, Chris feels strongly about protecting his children's privacy, and expresses the concerns he believes every parent should be aware of. He also touches on security issues regarding open networks and what to look out for to protect your online privacy. Watch the video below to watch the entire segment.
This is not the first time Chris has discussed these concerns with the public.
